In our city, transit is a human right. Currently, there is a great need for accessible, reliable, affordable transportation that could connect community. That provides access to essential resources. That offer stability in education, employment, housing, and medical care. With these needs in mind, our demands for a just and equitable transit system include the following policy priorities:
#1 - Transit Riders United States Together (TRUST)
National Campaign
Federal Funding: Democrats’ Bill has $32 billion in transit relief which would amount to $78 million to NFTA #TrustRidersFundTransit
Local Campaign
Hold NFTA Accountable, and prevent them from making decisions without public input, not notifying anyone except CAC, and presenting survey and information only at meetings or in emails #NoCuts #BTRUlyHeard
#2 - Restoration of Bus Route Cuts & Less Frequency
On May 24 NFTA eliminated #7 Richmond-Baynes, #29 Wohlers, #54 Military (NF), Express routes #68-George Urban and #79-Tonawanda
On June 21, NFTA eliminated more Express routes, #75, #55B and #69A
Additionally, NFTA has lessened frequency of trips on existing routes.
