In our city, everyone belongs
Our City Buffalo knows that our organizing work around housing justice, community safety, and equitable access to resources are vital for all Buffalonians. We do all of our work through a queer liberation lens. That means that we are committed to building a city where everyone, especially Black, Brown, trans, and queer folks, can live and thrive with dignity.
Our City’s work for LGBTQIA+ dignity and belonging has been evergreen, but took on new life following the slew of transphobic and homophobic actions taken on by the current federal administration.
That’s why in January of 2025, OCB teamed up with partners and allies to hold free name and document change clinics for folks throughout Western New York. Our clinics have served over one hundred Queer and Trans people to have their government documents reflect their names and gender markers to support their dignity and reduce the harm that misgendering has on our communities.
Our City Buffalo is fueled by the love, rage and passion of dedicated Queer and Trans Buffalonians and we won’t stop until all of us, everywhere, are free.
LGBTQIA+ Rights are human rights

Stop vilifying transgender people, by Harper Bishop
“"And while the economy remains a concern, it’s not going to be fixed by singling out a marginalized population. Trans people aren’t the reason for high egg prices, skyrocketing rents or why 60% of Americans reportedly live paycheck to paycheck. United in anger, we must fight the system that created such vast inequities in the first place and reject the hate, fear and division that has obscured these facts."
