PUSH Buffalo, as a member of national movement formations Climate Justice Alliance and People’s Action, a steering committee member of the statewide NY Renews climate justice coalition, and a founding member of the NY Energy Democracy Alliance, has organized and advocated with frontline communities for a just transition to a regenerative economy that’s puts people and planet first. Working with Our City Builds, PUSH and its base of grassroots leaders call on local elected officials to commit to the following:

• Respond to demands from the WNY Youth Climate Council, that have been endorsed by PUSH and local organizations, to formally declare a climate emergency and commit to implementing the climate goals and equity mandates of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA)

• Launch a public, democratically accountable, and inclusive climate justice action planning process aligned with the goals of the CLCPA

• Formally endorse the NY Renews climate jobs and justice recovery campaign, including passage of the Climate and Community Investment Act during the 2021 legislative session in NYS
